Introducing An Inside Look of a home close to co-founder, Haley! Haley's sister, Katelyn, invites us in for a peek at her Los Angeles home to show how Everhem transformed her space. The sister duo worked hard to design the perfect window treatments that would bring a light and cozy vibe to Katelyn's home. Katelyn would define her style as "neutral with a sophisticated warmth" and her sister, Haley, would define it as "traditional and polished with a touch of Hollywood Regency". Haley's interior design background and Katelyn's clear vision for the space was all they needed to elevate the spaces their families spend so much time together. Keep reading to see how Haley and Katelyn replaced the heavy black shutters with Everhem!
Katelyn strived to have a functional space that was both beautiful and kid-friendly. She wanted anyone who walked in to feel like this would be the perfect place to cozy up! Haley and Katelyn went with Sheers in Cloud to do just that. "I'm a hopeless romantic, so I'm really jiving on the Sheers lately! I love how it softly filters the light and gives this effervescent vibe." - Katelyn
Haley's favorite part of her sister Katelyn's home is a tie between the living room and the dining table area. To her, they are the heart of the home when their families get together. It's a perfect mix of sophisticated and welcoming for adults to chat and drink while the kids run and play!
Transforming Katelyn's home with Everhem is an experience the two sisters will never forget. We asked them both how it was working together on this project and here's what they had to say:
"Working with my sister has been the best! Picture having an interior expert that gets you more than you get yourself. It's like a dream team!" - Katelyn
"My big sister has always been my biggest supporter. Helping her turn her house into a home has been my way of saying thank you!" - Haley
With Katelyn and Haley working together to create a sophisticated yet welcoming space, they've made Katelyn's home sweet home all the sweeter!
Everhem has a solution to help the sleepers that are sensitive to light. Our secret to achieving optimal darkness is layering window treatments. Pairing Shades and Drapery allow you to let light in during the day and have not one, but two layers to ensure a good night's sleep! One solution, pair Blackout Shades to go with Blackout Drapery. This combination is key to achieving nearly total darkness during the day or night by covering where light would peekthrough if you just had Drapery or Shades.
Another option is a Privacy Lined Shade with Blackout Drapery. Convenient versatility comes with this combination. Privacy Lined Shades will allow filtered light to come through during the day yet provides an extra layer of darkness when your Blackout Drapery is drawn closed. This pair is perfect for those who want the best of both worlds.
Just like bedding, window treatments can play an important part of ones quality of sleep. Explore Everhem's full room darkening options, and say goodbye to restless nights!
Pleats may seem like a minor detail, but let us assure you, they can drastically change the look and feel of your window treatments. First, let's dive into Drapery and the three types of Pleats Everhem offers. Box, Tailored and Pinch are the three pleat styles you have to choose from. While each are equally beautiful, you may be leaning towards one over the others to achieve a certain look.
Box: Box Pleat Drapery is sewn in a such a way that the actual pleats are on the back side of the Drapery. It has a structured and columnar form giving a space a modern and casual feel.
Tailored: Tailored Pleat Drapery is pinched at the very top, allowing each individual pleat to gradually widen from top to bottom. This transitional option is perfect for either contemporary or traditional spaces.
Pinch: Pinch Pleat Drapery is pinched about 3 inches down from the top of the drape creating a "bow-tie" look at the top before gradually widening out. This Pleat style truly speaks to the traditional leaning areas.
On top of the three Pleat styles we offer for Drapery, we also provide two Pleat styles for our Roman Shades: Flat and Pleated.
Flat: Flat Roman Shades are square across the bottom with no structured pleats for a clean and casual look. This pleat style is ideal for any space, it is our "best all around" offering.
Pleated: Pleated Roman Shades have structured pleats sewn into the fabric for a polished and traditional look. This pleat style offers a couple helpful functions, including, helping Blackout Lining stay structured and adding an interesting design element to an area.
Now that you have the 411 on Pleat styles, you're ready to head to the Everhem website and Hem your windows. See you next time!

Welcome to An Inside Look of Heather Taylor Home's charming Idyllwild cabin! Follow along to see how Everhem helped create the vacation home of your dreams.
"My inspiration for this home is a California-inspired cabin with lots of cozy nooks and special touches. We designed it to be a perfect weekend getaway" - Heather Taylor
Everhem worked with Heather to select which of her beautiful fabrics to use to create COM window treatments throughout the cabin and landed on these enchanting finishing touches.
Heather describes her design style as "warm, welcoming, comfortable, layered, cozy and timeless". The layers of pattern and use of fabric throughout the home is what makes a space feel special to her.
"I loved the idea of matching the window treatments to the bedding in the upstairs guest room. It's such a rich and immersive look."
"I first noticed Everhem on Instagram. Window treatments have been historically tough for me to wrap my head around, and Everhem seemed liked the perfect solution to that design problem." - Heather Taylor
We really couldn't say it better than Heather when it came to working with her on the cabin, "Our beautiful ginghams and plaids combined with the impeccable Everhem construction is a match made in heaven".
Heather finds herself inspired by travel, beautiful hotels and her friend Sarah Shetter, an LA based interior designer who helped bring the HTH cabin to life.
"We wanted to use a combination of HTH fabrics with the gorgeous natural fibers offered by Everhem. I love the balance of the two styles!" - Heather Taylor
While Heather primarily used her own fabric in the cabin, she shared her favorites from our collection along with a bit of what she's looking forward to!
"I'm in love with Petal Stripe and would use that if I could go back in time and design my girls' nurseries again. I also LOVE all the Woven Woods, specifically Dune. I would love to install this in a home office or by any cozy reading nook."
" I can't wait to launch the first Heather Taylor Home experience and share with the world our cabin in Idyllwild."
We loved working with Heather and her wonderful team to create these one-of-a-kind window treatments!

Rob Diaz defines his styles as elevated, refined and purposeful.
"A space that evokes an emotional connection is truly a special one. When designing and constructing homes, I think about how the homeowner will live and experience the home and, how the flow, materials, and lighting will work together to enhance the home's architecture and natural beauty."
- Rob Diaz
"Rob's design intentionally captures the natural flow of the space and allows the architecture and material to speak for themselves."
"We were inspired by the marriage of old and new and the rich textures and surfaces throughout the house. The design captures the essence of old and new with modern pieces blended with vintage and antiques which help to ground each room and bring character to home. I wanted the home to feel exquisite, personal, and luxurious."
-Rob Diaz
Rob incorporates natural elements such as limestone and oak into this home. In doing so, it helps bring the outside in.

-Rob Diaz
"The primary suite is truly a tranquil retreat, with a private terrace, dual walk-in closets, and an expansive spa-like bathroom." - Rob Diaz
"I really like the neutrals they offer in natural linen. We have used a few colors from them in our design work, and I love the bone and sand colorways. I also like the woven wood roman shades in Khaki and Chestnut for certain smaller portions of our homes."
–Rob Diaz

Welcome to An Inside Look of Stephanie Beatriz's Los Angeles home. Stephanie wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, tranquil and relaxing, and we were thrilled to be part of achieving that goal.
Stephanie, an LA based actress with a career full of whirlwind moments and travel, knew it was important to her to have a home that allows her family to rest and reset before the next hectic cycle begins.
"I waited a while after we moved in to decide on window treatments. A few times I wanted to throw something up just to block the light that was coming in, but I'm glad I didn't. Letting all that light in, living in the space, understanding where we needed more privacy and seeing how the spaces in our house functioned with people in them was so helpful. By the time we were ready to take the plunge, it was easy to decide what kind of window treatments we needed and where!"
-Stephanie
She describes her design style as modern Scandinavian with cozy and soft elements mixed with toys and trinkets from her adorable toddler. Stephanie pulled inspiration from Hlx Island House in Puerto Rico, designed by John Hlx and resonated with his way of creating simple and undemanding environments allowing leeway for personal interpretation and inspiration.
Additionally, she stumbled upon an Everhem photo that became another source of inspiration for the home. When it came time to choosing her window treatments, we were the only option.
"A photo of Everhem window treatments was one of the reference images I used for what I wanted our house to feel like. I brainstormed a list of how I wanted to feel in the house and then searched for images that gave me the feeling. Lo and behold, Everhem was one of the strongest for me. In fact, the large glass doors in our bedroom and the Everhem window treatment on them are very similar to that image and they give me an incredibly peaceful feeling everyday when I wake up to see them! I wanted the space to feel like we could let the outside world fade away and retreat to a home that allows us to incubate creatively"
We love how Stephanie mixed and matched our window treatments throughout her home. She used Unlined Woven Woods in Onyx in the kitchen to add texture and dimension, and paired Privacy Lined Drapery in Storm and Roman Shades in Oyster Trim in the den, creating a true oasis.
"Lightness and brightness in a space is vital to me. The openness; it's amazing to be sharing the different spaces together while doing things separately, like working on a project while my kiddo plays and my husband, Brad, cooks breakfast in the kitchen! The colors in my space make me feel really happy. I love the soft white, grey, creamy pinks and sage greens."
While it was nearly impossible for her to pick a favorite room, she ultimately landed on their bedroom. As someone always on-the-go, she wanted to create a space that felt both luxurious and homey. Like your favorite hotel room where everything is just right. She selected Blackout Drapery and Roman Shades in Bone to brighten and complement the space.
We absolutely loved working with Stephanie and being able to share An Inside Look! Be sure to keep an eye out for her in the Twisting Metal series premiering later this year!
Thank you for following along, and we'll see you next time!
When it comes to customizing Shades with no visible cords, you have a couple options.
Cordless features our wood tassel positioned behind the center of the bottom of the shade. To operate this control, simply pull the tassel down, then guide the shade up slowly as it draws open. Pull the tassel down to close the shade or hold the shade at the desired position.
Cordless is a great option if you're looking for a less expensive way to achieve a clean look with no long cords.
Motorization features a rechargeable motor that is made to last and run quietly. To operate this control, use the pre-programmed remote to open or close the shade. You can also lock the shade at a desired position with a simple press of a button.

Keep your bedroom relaxing and functional with Roman Shades. Blackout Lining is ideal to ensure you get a good night's rest!

The bathroom is the perfect place to create an organic feel with our Woven Woods. Spoil yourself with Motorized Privacy Woven Woods to easily open and close your shades, even in the middle of a bath!
NURSERY
Keep your little ones comfortable and rested with functional window treatments that have a fun pop of color. We recommend layering your window coverings to achieve darkness at any time during the day!

Lining can make a bigger difference than you realize! Everhem offers 3 types of lining: Unlined, Privacy and Blackout. We recommend asking yourself when and where you'll be using your window treatments before choosing your desired lining.
UNLINED
Unlined window treatments are perfect for areas you want to keep bright and open. Keep in mind this option is ideal when privacy in not a concern. We often see Unlined in rooms like kitchens, breakfast nooks or even balconies.
PRIVACY
Privacy Lining is what we like to call "the best of both worlds". If you're looking for soft sunlight and privacy all at the same time, this lining is the best option for you. Utilize Privacy Lining in common areas like family rooms, home offices and bathrooms.
BLACKOUT
Blackout Lining is the ideal option when blocking the most amount of light and privacy are your top priorities. Consider Blackout for spaces like bedrooms, nurseries or home theaters.
Whether you choose Drapery, Roman Shades or Woven Woods, make sure you keep in mind how lining can play a part in function and design. We're always here to help! Email hello@everhem.com with any questions or concerns, and a window treatment expert from the Everhem team will be there to guide you!
Designing window treatments doesn't have to be a difficult task. At Everhem, we're always here to help in every part of the process! Here are 5 easy ways to help you create your custom window treatments:
1. Function First
Consider the purpose of the window treatment to guide your decision. Ask, "What function do I want it to serve?". For example, if your answer is, "to make my room darker" then Blackout Lining is the way to go.
2. Order Swatches
To choose the right fabric, it's best to see it in person and hold it up to the paint color to ensure it pairs well together. Tape the sample to the window for a few days to observe how the fabric looks in different lighting conditions, including during the day and at night.
It's always best to check with an expert. Take advantage of our free design consultations, where you can get help with measuring, design, and any questions you may have about window treatments.
4. Measure Precisely
Measuring to the 1/8" is vital in making your window treatment fit perfectly. We also provide helpful guides to assist you every step of the way.
5. Choose what you love
At the end of the day, trust your gut and pick what you love to help make your house a home!
