We’re thrilled to unveil this collaboration with Annie Meyers-Shyer of This Oak House. Together, we sourced the rich Oak-colored matchstick material and fabricated it into custom shades for Annie’s family home. This limited-edition collaboration highlights the perfect synergy between Annie’s design vision and Everhem’s window expertise, resulting in a truly unique offering that you can’t get anywhere else.
Matchstick blinds are elegant, design-forward window treatments made from finely woven natural wood or bamboo. They filter light beautifully while maintaining privacy, adding organic texture and timeless style to both modern and traditional spaces. The warm, natural wood tones evoke a vintage, lived-in feel, bringing a timeless, smooth texture that enhances the warmth and elegance of a space.
Like many great modern connections, this one started on Instagram. After stumbling across Annie’s account, @thisoakhouse, and falling in love with her thoughtful renovation, Haley knew she had to reach out. A quick DM later, and the conversation was already flowing.
We weren’t complete strangers—both Haley and Annie grew up in Los Angeles and share several mutual friends, but what really sparked the collaboration was Annie’s vision. Her home wasn’t just another renovation project—it was intentional, soulful, and deeply rooted in design.
From the beginning, Annie was clear: she wanted matchstick blinds. Not just in one room, but throughout the entire house. She had a specific material and aesthetic in mind, and we loved that. Together with Mike Moser’s team, we sourced samples, refined the fabrication, and worked through the details—especially since the home featured a mix of old, new, and reimagined windows.
